Mission One Eleven
Mission One Eleven is a non-profit organization that mobilizes and sends Christians to areas where the Gospel has not yet been reached.
We believe it is a birthright for every person to have a chance to respond to the Gospel. Furthermore, we desire to see a generation of disciples committed to making disciples of all nations, wherever God may call them, and Mission One Eleven is the tool used to breathe this vision into all who are interested.
Founder Karl Hargestam had been evangelizing North-East Africa for sixteen years when God began to speak a new direction in his ministry. Karl felt that he was to leave his position as a preacher among the villages of Ethiopia, travel to America and raise up a generation of believers committed to fulfill Christ’s last commission of reaching all the world. Through this calling, Mission One Eleven was established to birth this vision into others and ultimately send them to these ‘unreached’ areas. Back in Fall 2009, the first class of pioneers trained in California and then headed to Ethiopia to take part in a Crusade and live with a tribal group.
Mission One Eleven is a three-month program offered in the fall which will prepare and send those who join to be a representation of Christ where He has not yet gone. The first six-weeks are spent training in California through classes and local outreach and evangelism. After the six-weeks training, the team will be sent out to Ethiopia. Ethiopia is a two sided trip where the team will be a part of a large crusade festival as well as live for three weeks with a tribal group living in the jungles of Ethiopia who has never heard of Jesus Christ.
A two week trip is offered each fall as well that encompasses the Crusade aspect of Ethiopia. The 6-week training is not provided for those who join the two week trip. However, we will have both a preparation time as well as a debrief for all who join on this short term trip.
