Children
Covina Assembly of God has wonderful opportunities for children on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Our workers and volunteers have been professionally screened to ensure the safety and well-being of the children. Furthermore, a sophisticated check-in and receipting system ensures parental control over who can pick up their child.
Sundays
Services are available for Nursery (under age 3), Preschool (age 3 to kindergarten), and Elementary (grades 1-6) at 9 and 11 a.m. in English and 1:30 p.m. in Spanish. The curriculum used is First Look for Nursery and Preschool and 252 Basics for Elementary. Services generally begin with energetic worship for the kids followed by a large-group lesson focused on teaching one Christian virtue each month. After large group time, the children are then broken into small groups by grade where they review the lesson on a deeper level with adult small group leaders. Children in fifth and sixth grade participate in Catalyst, which is specifically geared towards reading through the Bible over the course of two years.
Wednesdays
At 7 p.m. on Wednesday nights, we offer Nursery (under age 3), Rainbows (ages 3-4), Boys Ministry (kindergarten to grade 6), and Girls Ministry (kindergarten to grade 6). In Rainbows, children sing worship songs, memorize Bible verses, and participate in crafts. Boys Ministry lets boys participate in sports in the Gym, followed by worship, a Bible lesson, and small group discussion. Girls Ministry is our discipleship and mentor program for girls. Girls earn badges for memorizing scripture and completing projects while making lasting friendships.
