Being a Christian means being connected to other believers in a community. Christians serving together in a community are like a body. Just as each part of the body has a different function yet serves the overall purposes of the body, each Christian has different gifts and abilities that serve God's purposes for the world. And just as every part of the body must be connected to the whole in order to be useful, every Christian must be connected to a community of believers in order to exercise their gifts and abilities in a meaningful way.
